Mr. Holmgren is a former Assistant District Attorney General with the Davidson County District Attorney General’s Office in Nashville, Tennessee where he was the team leader of the child abuse unit. Previously he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kenosha County, Wisconsin for ten years where he directed their sensitive crimes unit. As a prosecutor, Mr. Holmgren has tried more than 250 jury trials and has handled hundreds of child abuse cases.

Between November of 1995 and July 1999 Mr. Holmgren was a Senior Attorney with the American Prosecutors Research Institute’s National Center for Prosecution of Child Abuse. During his tenure at the National Center he was a frequent lecturer on child abuse topics at statewide and national conferences and acted as a consultant to the media, law enforcement, prosecutors and child abuse professionals throughout the country concerning issues of child maltreatment and sexually violent predators.

Mr. Holmgren has previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and is a former board member of the Wisconsin chapter of that organization. He has also served on the Board of Advisors for the Civic Research Institute’s Sex Offender Law Report.

Mr. Holmgren received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago in 1981, and his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1985.
