Across Michigan, there are Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) Local Councils (LCs) using the Period of PURPLE Crying program in the primary prevention efforts to offer education and support to all parents. PURPLE is a proven tool to educate parents and caregivers about coping with infant’s (sometimes endless and stressful) crying to prevent infant head trauma.  The LCs either deliver the curriculum themselves or they distribute through other organizations within their respective community(ies), including local hospitals and health departments.  To contact your county’s CTF Local Council and learn where the PURPLE program may be available in your area, go to the following link, Childrens Trust Fund - Programs (michigan.gov). Often, those LCs engaged in the PURPLE work, combine efforts with their safe sleep and other infant safety education programming. For more information, please feel free to contact CTF at .

Organizations not directly partnering with LC's are encouraged to participate individually as well. Contact  for more information on how to participate.
